Looking Out from Washington's Headquarters in Winter

Looking Out from Washington's Headquarters in Winter

Valley Forge National Historical Park is the site of the 1777-78 winter encampment of the Continental Army under General George Washington. The historic landscapes, structures, archaeological and natural resources at Valley Forge are tangible links to one of the most defining events in US history. Here the Continental Army under Washington's leadership emerged as a cohesive and disciplined fighting force. Most of them spent the winter living in huts like those viewed here through a back door of Washington's Headquarters.
